Canadian songwriter Billy Raffoul opened for American Authors on March 23, 2023 at the Majestic Theater in Madison. Billy Raffoul was accompanied by guitarist Justin Zuccato, a frequent partner in his creative endeavors. The two collaborated to provide a terrific introduction to the night of live music setting an emotive tone on stage. Billy’s mainstream hit “I See You” featuring dance-music producer Kygo ignited the crowd. After winding down, Billy spoke about how thankful he is that his music career has allowed him to travel which fuels his songwriting. This led to a story about how he and Justin aspire for a Holiday Inn Express sponsorship or affiliation due to his constant visits. The Holiday Inn Express inspired his song “Coffee.” Billy took this opportunity to show off his smooth yet rugged and vulnerable voice by diving deep into the character behind the song.
